It seems just like yesterday when I was toggling my CAT practice papers, racking my brain with some mind-boggling Quant problems, forcing my eyes to run a marathon race on the RCs and DI sets and here I am today, having a great time with my illustrious batch. The thrills of the exam season and the gruelling GD & PI was followed by a lull during which I had built so many castles in the air because I had developed a fascination for MBA right from my childhood and I am delighted to say that this wait has been every bit worth my efforts and planning. I think MBA is not just a degree; it is in fact an incredible ‘journey’. Now, I would love to share with you the magical first tryst with my dream come true.
It all began with a wonder of wonders because I was for the first time in my two decades of existence on Planet Earth eagerly waiting for a ‘ Monday Morning ‘ and it turned out to be a very exciting kick-start for us future business tycoons. Every single one of us DoMS NITians was intrigued by the sprawling campus with its lush greenery, well-facilitated DoMS department, well–stocked three-story central library, state of the art hospital, spacious lecture halls, multiple canteens, handy departmental stores, 24 x 7 ATM facilities and not to mention, the masti hostels where we are served lip smacking, hygienically prepared food. It really is a home away from home.
Prior to the commencement of our MBA sessions, we had our orientation program where we were addressed by our distinguished Dean, HoD and faculty members. They exuded immense support, congeniality and totally inspired us with their charisma and professional achievements which motivated us further. This was followed by a very enthusiastic interaction with our Seniors with whom we were able to share a ready rapport and they introduced us to a wide array of opportunities to build on our social, interpersonal and team-building skills in the form of various committees, management games and ‘FIRM games’ which deal with sports. In fact there is a lot more that we are yet to explore.
